O presente diploma define e regulamenta uma prestação de apoio aos idosos e inválidos, adiante designada por subsídio de apoio, que visa garantir a subsistência dos seus destinatários. O subsídio de apoio é uma prestação pecuniária periódica de montante único. A atribuição do subsídio deve ter em consideração as necessidades especiais e a insuficiência económica do candidato.This law defines and regulates the provision of support for the elderly and disabled, specitically subsidy support aimed at ensuring the survival of their recipients.
