Description

The Confederation and the cantons are jointly developing a noncommunicable disease prevention strategy (NCDs). The NCD strategy includes prevention of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases and musculoskeletal diseases. The NCD strategy is a strategy that does not compete with strategies specific to certain diseases; it brings improvements to certain aspects of prevention, strengthens the prospects for the development of national and cantonal prevention programs (alcohol, tobacco, physical activity and nutrition), highlights the promotion of health and strengthens prevention in the field of health care. The NCD strategy attaches great importance to the participation of associations.
