Description

This Plan outlines the specific actions the Scottish government will take to implement the concluding observations of the 2008 UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Considering policies that affect children and young people through a children’s rights lens can help to ensure that the policies are developed with the best interests of children to the fore. Promoting the links between children’s rights and the current policy agenda will help to raise the profile of children’s rights and the UNCRC within the Scottish Government and beyond. The actions outlined in this document have been developed following consultation with various stakeholders, including young people, and all fit within the Government’s overall purpose to focus government and public services on creating a more successful country with opportunities for all of Scotland to flourish.
