Description

This Framework is intended to support local agencies in identifying goals and milestones for continuous improvement of the delivery of supportive mental health services for children and young people in Scotland. The Framework should be considered within the context of a range of strategic policies and initiatives which aim to ensure that children and young people have the best possible opportunity to achieve their potential. In approaching appropriate mental health care, this Framework emphasizes the importance of considering the life stages of children and youth; the settings in which young people live; the range of organizations that serve youth; the continuum of mental health to mental ill-health; and underlying principles such as inequalities, accessibility and participation.
