Description

Adopted by the Swedish Government on 1 December 2010, this strategy aims to strengthen the rights of the child in Sweden. It replaces the strategy to implement the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in Sweden which had applied since 1990. The strategy is comprised of a number of principles that express the fundamental requirements for strengthening the rights of the child in Sweden, including the provision that every child up to the age of 18 is to be ensured certain rights under international agreements such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. These rights are to be ensured to each child irrespective of age, sex and disability, inter alia (Article 2, United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child).
