Description

The Government presents a strategy for the implementation of disability policy in Sweden during 2011-2016. The strategy aims to present policy direction, with specific goals for society's efforts and how the results will be followed up during the next five years. An important starting point is the human rights enshrined, inter alia, in compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Convention for the Rights of the Child. The focus of the work should be to remove barriers to accessibility and participation in everyday life. Efforts should be more systematic, concrete and measurable. A monitoring system will increase the knowledge about the effects of the strategy on the living conditions of persons with disabilities.
