Esta Ley declaratoria de los derechos de los / las jóvenes en Puerto Rico, tiene el propósito de destacar su condición de seres humanos, sujetos reales, plenos y efectivos de derechos, promoviendo la equidad de género y garantizando la igualdad real de oportunidades, propiciando acciones afirmativas que permitan la atención y solución a las necesidades específicas tendentes a atenderlos y valorarlos como actores estratégicos del desarrollo de la sociedad puertorriqueña.

This Act declares the rights of youth in Puerto Rico, is intended to emphasize their status as effective and real subjects of human rights, whilst promoting full gender equality and ensuring real equal opportunities. It encourages actions of affirmative attention and allows for solutions designed to address them and value them as strategic actors in the development of Puerto Rican society.
