Programmas "Cilvēkresursu attīstība veselības aprūpē" mērķis ir veselības aprūpes nozares nodrošināšana ar cilvēkresursiem un to attīstību ilgtermiņa posmā.
Programmas mērķis sasniedzams starpnozaru sadarbībā, īstenojot šādus uzdevumus:
1) efektīvi plānot cilvēkresursus veselības aprūpes nozarē;
2) nodrošināt veselības aprūpes nozari ar cilvēkresursiem nepieciešamajā skaitā, izvietojumā un pieprasījumam atbilstošā kvalifikācijā;
3) attīstīt izglītības sistēmu veselības aprūpes nozarē (augstāko, profesionālo, tālākizglītību) atbilstoši pieprasījumam darba tirgū;
4) pilnveidot darba samaksas sistēmu un izveidot sociālo garantiju un ārstniecības personu profesionālā riska apdrošināšanas sistēmu.

The aim of the program “Human resources in healthcare 2006-2015” is ensuring the healthcare system with human resources, and develop the healthcare system in a long term perspective. The aims of the program can be acquired in interdisciplinary collaboration, and are as follows:
1) effectively plan the human resources in healthcare;
2) ensure the healthcare system with human resources with appropriate qualification;
3) develop the educational system (higher, professional, further education) in healthcare in accordance with the demands of the market;
4) improve the reimbursement system and create the social package and system of risk-insurance for healthcare workers.
