Le Plan National pour le Vieillissement Actif prend en compte toutes les personnes âgées sur l’ensemble du territoire du Bénin. Sa mise en œuvre vise à garantir à toutes les personnes âgées quels que soient le sexe, le milieu de résidence, l’activité antérieure, la possibilité de mettre leur savoir et savoir-faire au service de la Communauté.

L’objectif principal du plan National est d’améliorer le niveau et la qualité de
vie des personnes âgées par :

1 – La promotion de la santé et du bien être des personnes âgées ;
2 – La réduction de la pauvreté des personnes âgées de 33,4% à 17% d’ici à 2016.
3 – Le renforcement de l’implication des personnes âgées dans le processus de développement.
4 – L’inclusion sociale des personnes âgées.
5 – L’amélioration des connaissances socio-économiques et démographiques sur les personnes âgées ainsi que sur leurs besoins par sexe.

The main objective of the National Plan is to improve the level and quality of life of older people thought:

2 - The reduction of poverty among the elderly from 33.4% to 17% by 2016;
3 - The strengthening of the involvement of older people in the development process;
4 - The social inclusion of older people;
5 - The improvement of the socio-economic and demographic knowledge about the elderly and their needs by sex.
