Description
The Act provides for the health and safety of persons with severe substance dependence through involuntary detention, care, treatment and stabilisation. The Act has replaced the Inebriates Act 1912 with the aim to provide effective and supportive drug and alcohol involuntary treatment that is more consistent with contemporary values of human rights and dignities of severely dependent people.Content
