Ο περί Ατόμων με Αναπηρίες Νόμος N. 127(I)/2000

"ΕΠΕΙΔΗ η Γενική Συνέλευση των Ηνωμένων Εθνών με ψήφισμα της με αρ. 48/96, κατά την 85η Σύνοδο, την 20ή Δεκεμβρίου 1993, ενέκρινε τους Πρότυπους Κανόνες αναφορικά με την Εξίσωση των Ευκαιριών για τα Άτομα με Αναπηρίες · και

ΕΠΕΙΔΗ οι Κανόνες αναφέρουν ότι η ανάληψη δράσης για την εξίσωση των ευκαιριών για τα άτομα με αναπηρίες από τα κράτη υπονοεί την ανάληψη δέσμευσης ηθικής και πολιτικής εκ μέρους τους υποδεικνύοντας σημαντικές αρχές για ευθύνη, δράση και συνεργασία και υποδεικνύοντας επίσης τομείς αποφασιστικής σημασίας για την ποιότητα ζωής και για την επίτευξη πλήρους συμμετοχής και ισότητας"
