Description

The Constitution of Slovakia, officially Constitution of the Slovak Republic (Slovak: Ústava Slovenskej republiky) was adopted by the Slovak National Council on 1 September 1992 and entered into force on 1 October 1992 (some parts 1 January 1993).

The Constitution has been amended 5 times: in 1998, 1999, 2001 and twice in 2004. The greatest amendments were introduced on 23 February 2001 resulting from Slovakia’s intention to join the European Union.
