Description

This document outlines the Ghana Child Health Strategy for the period 2007 – 2015. The strategy contributes to the achievement of the national development framework and is focused on achieving MDG4. It uses a “child centered” approach rather than a “programme centered” approach, by focusing on the entire lifecycle of the child from pregnancy through birth, infancy and older childhood. It brings together different programme areas (maternal and child health, nutrition, immunization, malaria, HIV/AIDS), and emphasizes the need for collaboration between them. The aim is for a single integrated child health plan – regularly reviewed and funded by all stakeholders.
