Supported the review of the village health workers (VHWs) program in optimizing the role of VHWs/community-based health workers in improving the delivery of primary health care services in Vanuatu
* Completed the situational analysis and strategic actions report in 2022
* Supported the prioritization of the training program to capacitate the existing VHWs and conducted 3 pilot trainings in Shefa, Tafea and Sanma provinces in 2023.
* Supported the preparation of a case study on ‘optimizing the roles of VHWs in Vanuatu’ that was presented during the Vanuatu Health research Symposium held in October 2023.
* Supported the formation of the Course Development Steering Committee for VHW Training Curriculum and drafting of the Needs Assessment Report and Benchmark report as per the requirement of the Vanuatu Qualification Authority (VQA).
* Supported the drafting of the Executive Committee paper to strengthen the existing VHW Program in Vanuatu through the development of a policy that addresses three key issues related to the Program: (i) training, (ii) incentives, and (iii) coordination and management.
