This includes the development of Drug Regulatory Agency institutional strategy and capacity building, working on procurement and pricing to improve access to selected Essential Medicines, e.g. to address high burden from NCDs. | Price regulation and practices are improved leading to decreased patient cost sharing to CVD related essential medicines in additional drug package. Additionally, the new regulation for the selection of medicines into the Additional Drug Package (ADP) is being implemented. The various forms required to launch this new process have been developed. | view | Completed | Health system strengthening | MoH stewardship capacity to lead and implement state health reform program in a coordinated way is supported: Joint Annual Review of MoH and DPs conducted , In 2023 MoH has requested support from WHO with development of the second phase action plan 2024-2030 (Action plan) of SHP based on the analysis of the action plan 2019-2023 implementation progress, lessons learnt during the pandemic. To support this process WHO worked with MoH to create the Inter-Sectoral Working Group (ISWG) and Expert Group (EG), prepare the outline for development of the SHP Action plan. On 30 March 2023, this Outline was presented by the MoH to development partners with a request for their support. SHP EG conducted analysis of implementation progress and the pandemic impact and lessons to take into account in the next phase action plan by the 9 SHP priority areas. The ISWG&EG retreat was organized on 12-15 October 2023 to put together the analysis conducted by each priority, discuss the cross-cutting enablers, prioritization of accelerators to prepare the first draft of SHP seven years action plan and amendments to SHP. The first ISWG meeting on 21 November 2023 approved eh SHP analysis for 2019-2023, the draft plans for priorities and the accelerators. |
