This course will give a general overview of drug nomenclature and how INN are obtained and constructed.

This course will give a general overview on specific chemical aspects that are considered and included in the development of International Nonproprietary Names for pharmaceutical substances.

This course will describe and explain the background to assigning INN to biological and biotechnological active substances.

Learning Clinical Pharmacology (ATC classification, INN system)

This course want to provide the first steps to learn pharmacology using INN stem.

Linguistic aspects of INN

This module will discuss linguistic aspects of International Nonproprietary Names (INNs) and will also highlight the differences between proprietary and nonproprietary names.

Economics and policy of INN prescribing

This course is divided in 3 parts:

•       in the first part INN prescribing is discussed within a broader analysis of the pharmaceutical market regulation;

•       the second one presents the situation in Europe;

•       in the third one the evidence on the impact of INN prescribing is summarized.
