Has anyone got any operational procedures on the response to rodent sightings/infestations they would be willing to share?

FAL Convention

Dear Colleagues,

I had been researching various documents and was particularly interested in the FAL documents that we often see (e.g. IMO General Declaration, Ships Stores Declaration, Crew List etc).

Whilst I have seen these documents many times before, I hadn't really given any thought to the convention behind them: The Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic, 1965 or FAL convention.

First Ebola Suspected Case in Uganda

Dear colleagues,

A highly Ebola suspected case, pending lab confirmation, has been detected yesterday in Hoima district in Uganda. Hoima district shares border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo across Lake Albert. Hoima is located approximately 230 kilometres, by road, northwest of Kampala, the capital of Uganda and the largest city in that country.

If the case is confirmed, it would ring alarm bells regarding the spread of the disease to a neighbouring country marking,thereby, the shift of the outbreak from one stage to a higher one. Here is the link:
