In July 2014, WHO has designated a new collaborating Centre for IHR – Points of Entry with the Health Quarantine and Inspection Department of the General Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, in order to have their support in the development of global technical guidance, tools, networks and activities related to core capacity building in the context of International Health Regulations (IHR), such as for development of a global vector identification platform.

Dear PAGNet members,
I see from the new look network that there are now 317 members from a wide range of countries. Please can I encourage you all to actively participate in discussions that are parts of your areas of interest to help us all get the most out of the network?

Dear All,
IHR Emergency Committe has published on may 5th a statement about the international spread of wild poliovirus with recommendations on vaccination and issuance of the International Certificate of Vaccination.
Are there some country requiring the International Certificate of Vaccination against polio from travellers from States currently exporting wild poliovirus?
Regards,

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Following the 4th PAGNet meeting last week, I am honoured to tell you that I have been asked to be the PAGNet facilitator for the next year for the Ports and Shipping group. I will be liaising with colleagues at WHO to help deliver key messages to members and subscibers but we are also aiming to develop and grow PAGNet.

Please consider the scenario I encountered last year. Please only consider the implications concerning the Maritime declaration of Health and the SSC. Individual countries national legislation should not be discussed.

Firstly, may I wish you all a Happy and Successful New Year.
Secondly, I was hoping to start some discussions around the issue of Ship Sanitation Certificates and Vessel Inspections to share experiences, ideas, good practice and learning. My thought was to try a series entitled "What would you do?". By using real life scenarios, we can discuss what was found, what could be done and any other relevant matters. I am happy to kick off (sorry, I am a football fan) with an example shortly. Before then I would suggest some rules for any discussions:
