Programme description

These programmes and actions were reported by countries for the 2nd WHO Global Nutrition Policy Review 2016-2017 module on actions related to school health and nutrition programmes. Programme objectives: foster healthy diet and lifestyle habits; educate children and improve knowledge about healthy diet and lifestyle habits; tackle health inequalities. All children at the targeted schools are eligible to participate in the school fruit and vegetable scheme. The fruit and vegetable scheme is free for all children. Types of fruit and vegetable products provided: fresh fruit and vegetables. Provided 2-3 times per week. Activities linked to the promotion of fruit and vegetable consumption include: nutrition education.
