The scope of the present Agreement shall be prophylaxis of iodine deficiency disorders through the state supervision over quality and safety of iodinated salt and iodinated foodstuffs in the process of processing, storage, transport and trade thereof. The Contracting Parties must unify standards for the contents of iodine in the iodinated foodstuffs (art. 2), coordinate arrangements for processing, trade and quality control of iodinated salt and iodinated foodstuffs (art. 4) and introduce monitoring of iodine deficiency disorders (art. 6).
