Goals, objectives or targets related to nutrition: 

The goal is to protect and promote health and reduce burden of diseases related to food and nutrition while contributing to social and economic development and sustainable environment. More specifically, the main goal of health sector is promotion of health through well balanced diet, prevention of nutritional deficiencies and prevention and control of food borne diseases.

Legislation on labelling of foods with nutritional information such as ingredients and the corresponding energy intake (www.molhsa.gem, www.moh.gov.ge, www.maf.ge)

Further notes: 

As mentioned in the NPA and evaluated in the report analysing the Georgia National Nutrition Survey 2009 (GNNS 2009), a cross-sectional, nationwide survey assessment of nutritional status in several target groups in Georgia, the following nutrition indicators were monitored and evaluated:Anemia and iron deficiency, Folate deficiency, Bread fortification, Salt iodization and consumption, Protein-energy nutritional status, Infant and young child feeding.
