The Action Plan for Food and Nutrition has been elaborated in 1995 including 8 actions among them the promotion of healthy diets and healthy lifestyles. The National Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology is the coordinator of this action. Dietitians were trained to give nutritional advice to patients in primary care centers. Illustrated booklets have been developed that serve as visual tools for this nutrition education.
