Prior to program implementation, an acceptability test was completed using Nutributter in children aged 6-23 months in November - December 2009. The product was found to be highly acceptable among the caregivers and the refugee community at large. From December 2009 – August 2010 (9 months), UNHCR together with Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA) implemented blanket distribution of Nutributter for children 6-23 months. The main objective was to reduce anemia prevalence in the target population. The same intervention restarted in January 2012 with UNHCR and CARE Canada for the year. In addition to the acceptability study, there were annual cross-sectional nutrition surveys among children 6-59 months and program monitoring data.
