Programme: Introducing home fortification to improve the quality of complementary feeding

Programme description

In order to address micronutrient deficiencies, WFP has been introducing MNPs on a pilot basis since 2013 and is now planning to gradually increase coverage through a sustainable and scalable implementation model. WFP will develop two parallel distribution channels for MNPs: 1) free public distribution (e.g. nutrition centers, schools) and market based channels in densely populated areas with low or no coverage of emergency nutrition services for targeting specific socio economic population groups, and improve cost-effectiveness and coverage.
