The Global nutrition policy review is based on a questionnaire survey conducted during 2009–2010, in which 119 WHO Member States and 4 territories participated.

Measures/initiatives to remove/reduce the salt content of processed foods was reported during the WHO Global Nutrition Policy Review (GNPR) 2009-2010. Bulgaria is a member of EU Salt Action Network.The main sources of salt in diet are determined.Round tables and discussion forums with food producers were performed. A formal agreement for joint actions between National Committee for realization of FNAP and producers of milk and diary products were signed.Reduction of salt content in some foods was realized in a number of enterprises due to activities in region/local level.
