El Monitoreo Federal de Grasas Trans en Alimentos constituye una línea de trabajo federal, enfocada a fortalecer las acciones de monitoreo del contenido de dichas grasas en los alimentos que se comercializan en todo el país, de acuerdo a lo establecido en el Artículo 155 tris del Código Alimentario Argentino.
Por eso, es llevado adelante por las Autoridades Sanitarias Jurisdiccionales en articulación con la Red Nacional de Laboratorios Oficiales de Control de Alimentos (RENALOA), siendo sus laboratorios miembros los que realizan la determinación analítica del contenido de grasas trans.
El Programa de Monitoreo se instrumenta como un sistema de vigilancia sostenible, que permite identificar la introducción de mejoras en la calidad nutricional de los alimentos por parte de la industria alimentaria.
