The first-stage sampling frame consisted of all schools containing any of Forms II, III, and IV. Schools were selected with probability proportional to school enrolment size. 25 secondary schools were selected to participate in the Mauritius GSHS and 5 secondary schools were selected to participate in the Rodrigues GSHS.
