Public-use dataset adolescents school health noncommunicable diseases risk factors protective factors health surveys diet nutrition hygiene physical activity violence and unintentional injury overweight obesity bullying Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS) The GSHS is a school-based survey which uses a self-administered questionnaire to obtain data on young people's health behaviour and protective factors related to the leading causes of morbidity and mortality among children and adults worldwide. Oman National coverage Individuals School-going adolescents aged 13-15 years. Sample survey data [ssd] The 2010 Oman GSHS employed a two-stage cluster sample design to produce a representative sample of students in grades eight to ten. The first-stage sampling frame consisted of all schools containing any of grades eight to ten. Schools were selected with probability proportional to school enrolment size. 49 schools were selected to participate in the Oman GSHS. The second stage of sampling consisted of randomly selecting intact classrooms (using a random start) from each school to participate. A self-administered All data processing (scanning, cleaning, editing, and weighting) was conducted at the US Centers for Disease Control. For the 2010 Oman GSHS, 1606 questionnaires were completed in 46 schools. The school response rate was 94%, the student response rate was 94%, and the overall response rate was 89%. The data is being distributed without warranty of any kind. The responsibility for the use of the data lies with the user. In no event shall the World Health Organization be liable for damages arising from its use.
