The WHO NCD microdata repository supports open data access to improve evidence-based and data-informed public health programming for NCD prevention and control. This microdata repository contains data from relevant NCD surveys which have used the standardized and recommended WHO tools and methods for undertaking population based surveys on NCD risk factors and related behaviours. These include: the STEPwise approach to noncommunicable disease risk factor surveillance (STEPS), the Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS), the Global School-Based Student Health Survey (GSHS), and the Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS).
STEPwise approach to noncommunicable disease risk factor surveillance (STEPS)
STEPS is a household survey of NCD risk factors among adults aged 18 to 69 years.
Global School-based Student Health Survey
The Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS) measures behavioural risk factors and protective factors in 10 key areas among young people aged 13 to 17 years.
Global Adult Tobacco Survey
The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) is a household survey on adult tobacco use and key tobacco control measures.
Global Youth Tobacco Survey
The Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) measures tobacco use and the impact of tobacco control programmes among young people aged 13 to 15 years.
