Dealing with Disasters Conference (DwD 2022)

The ‘Dealing with Disasters Conference’ (DwD 2022) will take place on 9th-10th June 2022, organised by the Northumbria University, UK. The conference is a response to the need to put disaster prevention into recovery processes as a strategic opportunity to improve the well-being and survivability of future generations. This two-day conference is aimed at engaging research, policy and practice for actions towards a more risk informed, and well-being enhanced, engagement with disaster prevention and recovery. The World Health Organization (WHO) has been invited to provide a 1.5 hour session on ‘Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management (Health EDRM)’ on Day One (9th June 2022). Through this great opportunity, Dr Ryoma Kayano and Mr Jonathan Abrahams from WHO will introduce an overview of Health EDRM and facilitate a panel discussion to promote the best way to advance research and evidence for Health EDRM to support the work of the WHO Thematic Platform for Health EDRM and the Research Network (Health EDRM RN).
