We are a WHO network of over 250 technical institutions and networks globally that respond to acute public health events with the deployment of staff and resources to affected countries. Coordinated by an Operational Support Team based at the WHO headquarters in Geneva and governed by a Steering committee, we aim to deliver rapid and effective support to prevent and control infectious diseases outbreaks and public health emergencies when requested. GOARN fosters regional and global networks of institutions to deliver a comprehensive response to public health emergencies when needed.
With over 16 years of experience in international outbreak response, GOARN delivers state of the art training for field response and standards for collaborative public health alert and response network.
