Point, line, polygon, and table data layers included in the StreetMap Premium for ArcGIS product from TomTom are summarized below. For a full description of layer and table attributes included in each release, download the help ZIP file.

Point layers

Cities (Cities)

The Cities (Cities File Geodatabase Feature Class) point layer contains the names of cities.

Highway Exits (Exits)

The Highway Exits (Exits File Geodatabase Feature Class) point layer contains highway exits.

Landmark Cities (Landmark_cities)

The Landmark Cities (Landmark_cities File Geodatabase Feature Class) point layer contains cities that are national or provincial capitals, or other large cities used for small scale display purposes in the map document.

Major Cities (MajorCities)

The Major Cities (MajorCities File Geodatabase Feature Class) point layer contains the names of major cities.

Maneuvers (Maneuvers)

The Maneuvers (Maneuvers File Geodatabase Feature Class) point layer gives detailed information about restricted maneuvers. A maneuver is a mandatory, preferred or prohibited access of a Transportation Element in relation to another Transportation Element.

Network System Junctions (Routing_ND_Junctions)

The Network System Junctions (Routing_ND_Junctions File Geodatabase Feature Class) point layer represents points that connect edges of the network dataset and facilitate navigation from one edge to another.

Override Points (Routing_Streets_Override)

The Override Points (Routing_Streets_Override File Geodatabase Feature Class) point layer represents connection points indicating where connectivity occurs mid-span along the merged line features of the dissolved network dataset, Routing_ND.

Points of Interest (POI)

The Points of Interest (POI File Geodatabase Feature Class) point layer contains the names of points of interest in North America. A Point of Interest (POI), also called a "Service," is a point representation of an activity at a specific location. "Service" represents the activity and not necessarily the building in which the activity takes place. Although the point also may serve as a destination landmark, the point does not necessarily represent an entire physical object. A POI also can be a central point of an area.

Postal Codes (PostalCodePoints)

The Postal Codes (PostalCodePoints File Geodatabase Feature Class) point layer represents the postal code areas as centroids.

Signposts Point Location (SignpostsLocation)

The Signposts Point Location (SignpostsLocation File Geodatabase Feature Class) point layer contains freeway signposts. Signposts are useful for directional and destination information. Transportation Elements that lead to a destination indicated by a signpost can be linked.

The Administrative Borders (AdminBorders File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer contains administrative border segments.

Cartographic Streets (Streetscarto)

The Cartographic Streets (Streetscarto) line layer contains linear features that represent cartographic street features.

Geocode (Geocode)

The Geocode (Geocode File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer is a reference layer designed exclusively for geocoding. This layer contains all of the edges/lines/arcs and attributes required for address geocode operations. The parsed addresses conform to normal postal standards for the spelling of street abbreviations and road names.

Highways (Highways)

The Highways (Highways File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer contains highway segments.

Major Roads (MajorRoads)

The Major Roads (MajorRoads File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer contains major road segments.

Motorways (Motorways)

The Motorways (Motorways File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer contains interstate highway/motorway segments.

Railways (Railways)

The Railways (Railways File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer contains railway features published as polylines. Generally, only the railway lines for passenger traffic are captured. Metro subways and tramways are not captured.

Signposts (Signposts)

The Signposts (Signposts File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer contains Sign Text information for roads for network routing.

Streets (Streets)

The Streets (Streets File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer represents streets, motorways, freeways, highways, major roads, secondary roads, local and connecting roads, back roads, roads with special characteristics, access ramps, service roads, pedestrian walkways, and ferries. This dataset contains all roads plus all road network features such as functional road classifications, blocked passages, overpass and underpass (Z-level) information, toll roads, speeds, access restrictions, lane information, travel times, direction of travel, driving side, and classes. In addition, this road network includes trucking restrictions and preferred routes, as well as historical traffic data. This dataset is licensed and requires a license file for access.

Streets for network (Routing_Streets)

The Streets for network (Routing_Streets File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer represents streets for network routing. This dataset is licensed and requires a license file for access.

Turn Restrictions (RestrictedTurns)

The Turn Restrictions (RestrictedTurns File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer represents restrictions to the route network which are defined based on two or more links

Waterway Lines (WaterLines)

The Waterway Lines (WaterLines File Geodatabase Feature Class) line layer includes all water features that are represented as line segments. Waterway lines represent only linear water bodies (rivers, canals).

Address Areas (AddressAreas)

The Address Areas (AddressAreas File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent address areas. An Address Area is a square or place that is important as a destination because it contains addresses that cannot be related to the street name of the road that passes by or through.

City Limits (CityLimits)

The City Limits (CityLimits File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent city boundaries.

Countries (Countries)

The Countries (Countries File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent countries.

Grid (Grid)

The Grid (Grid File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains a single "grid" boundary covering the geographic extent of the North America Boundary layer. The Grid layer can be used as the control layer for zooming to full extent.

Islands (Islands)

The Islands (Islands File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent islands.

Land Cover Areas (LandCoverAreas)

The Land Cover Areas (LandCoverAreas File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent land cover areas. Land Cover represents the physical status, or natural cover, of a feature. Land cover areas include Beach/Dune/Sand Area, Forest (Woodland), and Moor/Heathland.

Land Use Areas (LandUseAreas)

The Land Use Areas (LandUseAreas File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent land use areas. Land Use represents the human use of a feature.

Major Water Areas (MajorWaterAreas)

The Major Water Areas (MajorWaterAreas File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent major water features.

Minor Civil Divisions (SubMunicipalities)

The Minor Civil Divisions (SubMunicipalities) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent Minor Civil Divisions (MCD) within the United States and sub-municipalities for Canada. MCDs are legally defined county subdivisions, such as towns and townships.

Municipalities (Municipalities)

The Municipalities (Municipalities File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent counties.

Nation Boundaries (Nation)

The Nation Boundaries (Nation File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent world nations.

Postal Districts (PostalCodeBoundaries)

The Postal Districts (PostalCodeBoundaries File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer represents postal districts. Postal districts are areas that are defined as units for postal services and refer to an area with one postal code and/or one official name. These areas are defined by national postal organizations.

Provinces (Provinces)

The Provinces (Provinces File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer represents provinces in Europe.

Regions (Regions)

The Regions (Regions File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent regional boundaries in Europe.

State/Province Boundaries (Regions)

The State/Province Boundaries (Regions File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent state and province boundaries in North America.

This layer is available in North America releases.

Sub-Municipalities (SubMunicipalities)

The Sub-Municipalities (SubMunicipalities File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains polygonal features that represent sub-municipalities in Europe.

This layer is only available in Europe releases.

Sub-Provinces (SubProvinces)

The Sub-Provinces (SubProvinces File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer represents sub-provinces in Europe.

Water Areas (WaterAreas)

The Water Areas (WaterAreas File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer contains all water features in the TomTom database that can be represented as polygons.

Time Zones (TimeZonePolygons)

The Time Zones (TimeZonePolygons File Geodatabase Feature Class) polygon layer represents time zone areas.

Maneuvers Path Index (ManeuversPathIndex)

The Maneuvers Path Index (ManeuversPathIndex File Geodatabase Table) table describes the path of a Maneuvers Relationship: Start TRPELID up to end TRPELID. The Sequential Number (SEQNR) Attribute contains the exact position that an Element occupies in a Maneuvers Relationship chain.

Profiles (Profiles)

The Profiles (Profiles File Geodatabase Table) table represents speed profiles on streets in North America in five minute increments.

Route Restrictions (Restrictions)

The Route Restrictions (Restrictions File Geodatabase Table) table defines limitations to take into consideration when calculating a route. A Restriction limits access to part or all of a Transportation Element.

Signposts Path (Signposts_Streets)

The Signposts Path (Signposts_Streets File Geodatabase Table) table defines the Links involved in Signposts. Each SignPost is defined by a combination of two edges. Therefore one Signposts entry is defined by two entries in Signposts Streets layer: one for the From Edge and one for the To Edge. The From Edge ID and To Edge ID involved in the SignPost can be disconnected.

Streets Profiles (Streets_Profiles)

The Streets Profiles (Streets_Profiles File Geodatabase Table) table represents daily speed profiles on streets.

Streets RoadSplits (Streets_RoadSplits)

The Streets RoadSplits (Streets_RoadSplits File Geodatabase Table) table defines where roads split off and fork into multiple streets

Streets TMC (Streets_TMC)

The Streets TMC (Streets_TMC File Geodatabase Table) table provides Traffic Message Channel (TMC) information for streets.

Time Domains (TimeDomains)

The Time Domains (TimeDomains File Geodatabase Table) table contains all available Time Domains on the restrictions described in the Route Restrictions table (Restrictions). This table represents time domain restrictions on the road network. If a time domain is longer than 254 characters, the extra characters will get an additional Sub-Sequential Number (SUBSEQNR)

Time Zones (TimeZones)

The Time Zones (TimeZones File Geodatabase Table) table represents time zones.

TMC Location (TMCLocation)

The TMC Location (TMCLocation File Geodatabase Table) table contains information on TMC Locations. TMC Location is related to one Point Location in the TMC location database and refers to objects along or at the Road Network.

TMC Location Index (TMCLocationIndex)

The TMC Location Index (TMCLocationIndex File Geodatabase Table) table lists all Transportation Elements belonging to the same TMC Location or Path. A TMC Location also can include Junctions.

TMC Path (TMCPath)

The TMC Path (TMCPath File Geodatabase Table) table is the database representation of the path along which TMC Path Point Locations are situated. It is stored as the complex feature TMC Path and refers to a captured Road Element or Ferry Connection that is located in between two TMC Locations.

TMC Path Index (TMCPathIndex)

The TMC Path Index (TMCPathIndex File Geodatabase Table) table describes the path of a TMC Path Relationship. The Sequential Number (SEQNR) Attribute contains the exact position that an Element occupies in a TMC Path Relationship chain.

TMC Information on Road Element (TMCInformationOnRoadElement)

The TMC Information on Road Element (TMCInformationOnRoadElement File Geodatabase Table) table provides Radio Data System (RDS)-TMC chain information on transportation elements for all locations captured on the network with reference to the TMC path(s) in which they are located. The same Transportation Element might be repeated if several locations are located on it and/or if they are part of several TMC Paths.
