Anti-tobacco interventions – such as communication campaigns or educational programs – aim to educate the public and change smoking related behaviors. Evaluating these interventions is essential to ensure the effective use of available resources, including financial resources, which are often limited. Evaluation also makes it possible to optimize future initiatives and thereby enhance their impact. Data on the effectiveness of interventions can also be used to advocate for stronger stakeholder support and easier access to sustainable funding.
The Knowledge Hub will organize a webinar titled: « Evaluating prevention campaigns: a key step toward effective tobacco control actions ». The purpose of this webinar is to raise participants’ awareness about the challenges and the importance of evaluation, emphasizing that it is always possible to implement a form of evaluation that will help optimize the prevention campaigns. The webinar will present the different types of evaluation and their specific characteristics, as well as guidelines to support the implementation of effective assessments and illustrate these concepts with inspiring international examples.
This webinar will be conducted in French and English, with simultaneous interpretation in both languages. The webinar will be recorded and made available on the Knowledge Hub’s website, where it can be viewed later on.
