The WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub for Article 5.3 and the co-organizers, the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Tobacco Taxation and the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Legal Challenges, invite all interested to their webinar entitled "Beyond Health: Answering Tobacco Industry Tactics and Strengthening Policy Safeguards". 

The webinar has several objectives. It seeks to empower policymakers, advocates, and stakeholders to strengthen tobacco control policies by providing successful examples of strategies that counter the tobacco industry's pervasive tactics in non-health sectors. It will also highlight successful measures and practices that effectively shield tobacco control from industry manipulation. Furthermore, it will examine case studies from countries that successfully responded to the tobacco industry's interference in targeting the non-health sectors. Finally, it will provide the lessons learned in protecting the tobacco industry from interfering with public health policies.

Considering the webinar's focus, participation by representatives from non-health sectors is strongly encouraged. 

The webinar will take place on 28 August 2025, from 12.00 to 13.15 (GMT), or 6:00 - 7:15 A.M. (Mexico), 8:00 - 9:15 A.M. (New York), 2:00 - 3:15 P.M. (Geneva), 2:00 - 3:15 P.M. (Johannesburg), 5:30 - 6:45 P.M. (New Delhi), 7:00 - 8:15 P.M. (Bangkok), 10:00 - 11:15 P.M. (Sydney).

The webinar will be run in English; French and Spanish simultaneous interpretation will be provided for multilingual audiences to ensure global accessibility.
