EMT request for assistance- Armenia: Burns Specialized Care Teams

On September 25, 2023, a fuel depot in Nagorno-Karabakh exploded, killing 170 people and injuring hundreds. The cause of the blast is still unknown.
 

A request for international assistance has been issued by the Ministry of Health for Burns Specialized Care Teams and MEDEVAC Specialized Care Teams to support 9 identified health facilities for: 

  • Medical evacuation of patients with burns severe and critical conditions.
  • Provision of burns management onsite (in Armenia) through the provision of skin graft operations as required and specialized management of severe burns patients, including rehabilitation, to assist the MOH in treating the 200 burn cases that have been evacuated to Yerevan medical centres.
  • Provision of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals for the care and treatment of burn patients
  • Training and capacity building for local healthcare professionals to enhance their skills in burn care and treatment.

Interested EMTs are requested to fill up and submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) form which can be accessed on this link.

EMTs should submit the EOI form as soon as possible. Offers will be presented to national authorities.

Please note that all EMTs wishing to deploy must first write their expressions of interest and the duly filled form. EMTs must wait for approval before mobilising, as deployment is subject to approval by the Ministry of Health. 

EMTs are expected to be self-sufficient. Please check Recommendations for the composition of Burn Specialized care Teams. prior to submit the EOI.
