About the course
This course supports understanding and application of key scientific and ethical principles for designing and conducting high-quality, impactful clinical trials, based on the WHO Guidance for Best Practices for Clinical Trials. It is relevant for a wide range of roles—including clinical trial site staff, protocol developers or reviewers, data managers, statisticians, healthcare professionals, funders, sponsor staff, Ethics Committee members, regulatory personnel, auditors, and community or patient representatives involved in clinical research.
Furthermore, WHO is developing a Training Resources Hub for Clinical Trials – an online platform into which this course will be integrated as a foundational course and referring to further learning resources expanding into specific competencies.
This self-paced course is available in English via web or mobile, and includes nine modules and a final assessment. It takes approximately 4.5 hours to complete, and participants who achieve a score of 80% or higher will receive a WHO Academy confirmation of participation
