Call for public consultation – WHO's Procedure for Prequalification of vaccines

The World Health Organization (WHO), through its Department of Regulation and Prequalification (RPQ), provides guidance to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF),  other interested United Nations agencies, Member States and international/intergovernmental organizations in their vaccine procurement decisions .

Since the last revision published in 2013 in TRS 978, the proposed changes reflect the experience gained through interactions with stakeholders, new regulatory collaborations and implementation of the procedure itself.

To ensure transparency and rigor, all contributions will go through the following process:

  1. Consolidation: All responses will be compiled and organized by section (addressing editorial, factual correction, references, new content).
  2. Review: A dedicated WHO technical team, in consultation with subject matter experts, will review each comment for relevance, accuracy, and alignment with the PQ procedure’s objectives.
  3. Integration: Approved suggestions will be incorporated into the document using tracked changes. Where multiple comments address the same point, they will be merged.

You are kindly invited to review and provide feedback to the revised WHO's Procedure for Prequalification of vaccines through the online submission form.

In case feedback through the online platform is not feasible please contact us through vaccprequal@who.int indicating “Feedback PQ vaccines procedure”
