Improving the COVID-19 response for older people

Older people and those with underlying medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes, respiratory disease, and cancer are at high risk of serious health outcomes from COVID-19.

Cities and communities within the WHO Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities and beyond are seeking solutions to enable older people to benefit from and contribute to the COVID-19 response.

To help us better support you, we would like your feedback on areas where you may require additional information, guidance or practical examples, including:

  1. How older people can prepare and protect themselves against infection (Section 2)
  2. How older people can continue to have their needs met in situations of lockdown (Sections 3 and 4)

This survey on needs, contributions and challenges is intended for local authorities, community leaders, civil society organizations and community volunteers working with older people. It will take five to seven minutes of your time. At the end you can share concrete examples through a separate form.

If you wish to share your concrete examples now, you can do so here: https://extranet.who.int/dataform/547654?lang=en.

Any information collected through this form may be used by WHO for communication and knowledge sharing purposes.
