Endorsement of global compact for progress towards universal health coverage
UHC2030 member
UHC2030 joint vision progress
Nigeria joined IHP+ in 2008. A first country compact was signed in December 2010 by the Federal Ministry of Health, the National Planning Commission and seven development partners. The Senate Committee on Aid Effectiveness issued a Statement on Aid Effectiveness and Budget Flows towards Alignment and Additionality in 2011. An IHP+ country grant has mainly been used to support the institutionalization of National Health Accounts, support the joint annual health sector review process and to support donor coordination. The national CSO Positive Action for Treatment Access received a grant from the Health Policy Action Fund in 2010. Nigeria participated in the 2nd and 3rd round of monitoring progress against compact commitments by IHP+Results and in the 5th IHP+ monitoring round which tracked progress on the implementation of eight practices for effective development cooperation (EDC) IHP+ membership was transferred to UHC2030 in 2016.
