UHC2030 joint vision progress

Benin joined IHP+ in September 2009. It has a National Health Development Plan 2009-2018 which is complemented by a 3-year operational plan. A first country compact was signed in November 2010 between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance and five development partners. Following joint missions by GAVI, Global Fund, World Bank and WHO in 2011 and 2012 there are intensified efforts to harmonize monitoring and fiduciary procedures and align more with national systems. The national CSO Social Watch received a grant from the Health Policy Action Fund in 2010. There is a 2011 case study on aid effectiveness and results. Benin participated in the third round of monitoring progress against compact commitments by IHP+ and in the 5th IHP+ monitoring round which tracked progress on the implementation of eight practices for effective development cooperation (EDC) IHP+ membership was transferred to UHC2030 in 2016.
