The Age-friendly Sharjah office represented by Sharjah honored five organizations holding the title of Age-friendly organizations which are Al Qassimi hospital, Khorfakkan dental center, Kalba health center, Sharjah science museum of the Sharjah authority, and Hamriyah city municipality as a part of the Age-friendly institution in its second round. These entities obtained the title after fulfilling more than 80% of the standards which focus on the structural design of the building and its vitality, distinctive facilities, and services. The importance of the initiative comes as it contributes to strengthening the Emirate\u2019s membership in the World Health Organization\u2019s global network of age-friendly cities supporting the strategic plan of the Sharjah Age-Friendly City program, highlighting the role of governmental and non-governmental agencies in providing age-friendly services and informing society of the practices and programs offered to the elderly in the Emirate of Sharjah. Also, work on modifying the environment of the authorities in line with the needs of the elderly.<\/p>\n
