Every year on 31 October, the world comes together to celebrate World Cities Day and recognise the crucial role cities and communities play to shape our health and well-being.
There’s no better example of this than the members of the WHO Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities. Every single day, all 1542 of us across 51 countries are showing how cities and communities can be better places to grow, live, work, play, and age – for everyone.
Your work and contributions are a daily reminder of how much positive impact we can create for all members of a community by committing to become more age-friendly. But on this special day, we want to send you a note just to say: thank you and congratulations for being a part of the global age-friendly movement!
And don’t worry – if you’re on the journey to become a part of the Global Network, you’re part of this celebration too. We can’t wait to work with you to transform the world to be a better place to grow older this UN Decade of Healthy Ageing!
